Basic Alkalizing Formula (2x/day)
1 lemon = 2-3 Tbs of lemon juice (or 1/2 lemon + 1-2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar)
1/4 tsp baking soda + 1/4 tsp potassium bicarbonate
6 oz water (purified, non-chlorinated, non-fluoridated)
Take the above formula one or two times per day. The liver can only utilize so much lemon juice per hour; so, instead of taking the whole 8 ounces at one time it may be more beneficial to take half, then wait a half hour to an hour, and then take the second half.
A very good, organic, raw apple cider vinegar, with "the mother" (i.e., beneficial bacteria) still intact, is put out by Bragg.
When using this protocol it would be helpful to monitor your urine and saliva pH with pH paper; the ideal is to maintain a pH level (of both urine and saliva) around 6.4-6.6. Stay on this protocol until pH levels are stabilized around 6.6, which may take a week or several weeks. After that you can consider some other approaches. As your pH levels stabilize around 6.6 you can cut down to one dose per day and explore other ways to maintain an alkaline pH, such as shifting to calcium supplements (as per the Beddoe Protocol) and/or eating more alkalizing foods.
For additional protocols, see "Ted" of Bangkok's posts regarding alkalizing protocols on EarthClinic.com.
Note: Bob's Red Mill baking soda (which can be picked up at a health food store or ordered online) is aluminum-free. Arm & Hammer may also be aluminum-free as well. Potassium bicarbonate must be ordered online. If all you can get right now is baking soda then use that for now (1/2 tsp). When the potassium bicarbonate arrives, use 1/4 sodium bicarb and 1/4 tsp potassium bicarb.
The Enhanced Basic Formula
For greater nutritive support, you may want to add additional nutrients such as fulvic acid, Lugol's iodine, and natural vitamin C (from camu camu or acerola cherries). This is the basic mix I make in the morning which I divide into 2-3 doses per day.
— 1 lemon
— 2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
— 10 oz water (purified, non-chlorinated, non-fluoridated)
— 3/4 tsp sodium bicarbonate + 3/4 tsp potassium bicarbonate
—2 drops of 5% Lugol’s solution (for added iodine)
(Lugol’s solution seems to “disappear” when mixed with lemon juice and/or ascorbic acid—both in terms of taste and appearance. Please test yourself to make sure you are not reactive to iodine/iodide before supplementing with iodine.)
— 1 tsp camu camu powder
— 1/2 tsp d-ribose
— 2-4 ounces of organic orange juice (or cold-pressed cranberry juice)
The following can also be added:
— trace minerals (or pinch of Himalayan salt)
--methylene blue (1ml)
-- 1 dropper of d-limonene
Mixing: Place the lemon juice and ACV in a jar and add 2 ounces of water. Mix in camu camu and ribose. Then add the iodine. Then add the sodium bicarbonate / potassium bicarbonate; add small amounts at a time and mix until the fizzing stops. Then add the rest of the ingredients.
Note: Lemon juice (and ascorbic acid) will cause the Lugol's solution to become completely iodide (with a "d") and lose it's iodine (with an "n") component. This will still be nourishing to the thyroid and endocrine system but no longer be anti-microbial or work on Candida. To insure you get sufficient amounts of anti-microbial iodine you will need to supplement with Lugol's solution on it's own, in water, and not mixed with any kind of Vitamin C juice.

Alkalizing Combo 1
This is a Formula used by Bill Thompson (as part of his anti-Candida protocol). See Section 8 for the full anti-Candida protocol.
1 cup of water
1 squeezed Lemon/Lime
1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar (ACV)
¼ to ½ teaspoon gymnema sylvestre extract* (herb)
MSM (methyl-sulphonyl-methane), 1/2 tsp
Glutamine, 1/8 tsp or 500 mgs
5% Lugol’s Iodine, 6 drops
Vitamin C as ascorbic acid, 1/4 tspn or 1000 mgs (Best to replace with acerola powder)
Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) -- keep adding until the fizzing stops
* Helps control blood sugar and prevents Candida changing from a yeast to a fungal form (the fungal form invades tissue and is much more difficult to treat.)
